Mixer operates and tends machines that mix materials or ingredients used for production processes or manually mix ingredients. Loads materials into mixing equipment and ensures results comply with specified batch requirements. Being a Mixer may utilize tools, devices or heavy equipment to move materials from inventory to production area. Documents operational information as required. Additionally, Mixer cleans and sanitizes processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines, and pumps. Follows hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment requirements, if applicable. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mixer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Schuster Concrete is seeking professional CDL (Class A or B) Concrete Mixer Truck Drivers for a number of Maryland locations including Baltimore, Owings Mills, Jessup, Rockville, Frederick, Hagerstown, and Denton.
Job Responsibilities
· Safely and efficiently operate concrete mixer truck transporting ready mix concrete to and from various job sites and residences as directed by the plant manager or dispatcher
· Interact with dispatchers and customers to ensure proper delivery, placement, and payment
· Maintain a daily time card indicating load quantities and sequence
· Perform pre-trip equipment inspections including tire pressure, brakes, air pressure, fluid levels, lights (headlights, brake lights, running lights, etc.)
· Operate vehicles safely in a variety of conditions both on and off road and ability to work a varying schedule as the work dictates.
CDL Class B Truck Driver Qualifications/Requirements
· License/Certification: Must have a valid CDL license (Class B minimum)
· WILL TRAIN
· Must be able to read, write and understand written and oral instructions in English
· Must be able to operate a tandem axle truck with manual transmission
· Must have general knowledge of: Department of Transportation rules and regulations, vehicle safety, concrete material handling, equipment maintenance, vehicle weight capacities, road weight limits, and basic GPS navigation
· Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and road test
