    • Accurately demonstrates EKG rhythminterpretation. As appropriate monitors O2 sats understandingparameters when to call a nurse. (EF)
    • Promotesquality patient care by vigilant identification of changes orabnormalities in EKG morphology. Takes corrective action orcommunicates immediately when appropriate to proper personnel.(EF)
    • Provides and accurately processesdocuments quality data and related centralized telemetry monitor(CTM) records. (EF)
    • Ensures all patient careequipment has had QC performed as required is in safe working orderprior to use and documents findings accordingly.

    Reports anymalfunctions to management and regularly practices preventivemaintenance procedures; calls for service if needed.(EF)

    o Prior healthcareand / or medical terminology experiencepreferred

    CERTIFICATIONSLICENSES AND REGISTRATIONSREQUIRED

    o One of the following EKGMonitoring Certifications : Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT)Certified EKG Technician (CET) CMTBC Nationally RegisteredCertified EKG Technician (NRCEKG) ECGBC Board Certification (ECGBC)or NTT through the National Telemetry Association within one yearof hire / transfer

    o American Heart AssociationBasic Life Support (BLS)

    KNOWLEDGESKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    oDemonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safelyperform the assigned job determined through ongoing skillscompetency assessments and performanceevaluations

    o Sufficient proficiency in speakingreading and writing the English language necessary to perform theessential functions of this job especially with regard toactivities impacting patient or employee safety orsecurity

    o Ability to effectively communicatewith patients physicians family members and coworkers in a mannerconsistent with a customer service focus and application ofpositive language principles

    o Exhibits stronginterpersonal and team player skills with all levels of thehealthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer serviceto all patients visitors physicians andcoworkers

    o Successful completion of validatedBasic EKG proficiency exam with a score of 80% and correctidentification of lethal dysrhythmias during initial and ongoingorientation

    o Maintains competency in pulseoximetry (SpO2) as appropriate

    o Demonstratesproficiency in the use and maintenance of equipment such as RemoteViewing Station (RVS) transmitters monitoring equipment computersfacsimile Sickbay EPIC and printer
