Mortgage Credit Analyst assesses the risk and creditworthiness of loan applicants and recommends loan approval, terms, or application denial. Gathers necessary credit, income, and tax information to conduct financial assessments. Being a Mortgage Credit Analyst reviews and verifies property appraisals, collateral value, and key indicators such as debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios. Prepares a detailed credit analysis and summary using underwriting guidelines, risk assessment frameworks, and following applicable regulatory compliance. Additionally, Mortgage Credit Analyst may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mortgage Credit Analyst work is closely managed.     PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
    Conducts daily business interactions and maintains constant alignment with OnPath’s mission, culture, and core values and core behaviors. Initiative and judgment are required in the absence of specific direction from management. Ensures value through decision making that supports credit union goals and interests while upholding OnPath’s service standards and ethics. Increase OnPath’s mortgage lending by assisting customers and members from the loan application process through the closing of the mortgage loan.
    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
    • Successfully complete XINNIX training program within assigned time if under three years of experience.
    • Successfully complete other department required training within specified time.
    • Satisfy all NMLS requirements to obtain required license (training, testing, and background check).
    • Develop strategic business partners to create a strong referral network.
    • Prospect daily to increase networking and contacts, both face-to-face and telephone contact
    • Build relationships with customers and OnPath members to provide them with the products and services to meet their needs.
    • Participate in OnPath sponsored events and education classes as applicable.
    • Consistently exceed member expectations.
    • Take thorough loan applications following all applicable regulations.
    • Coordinate all aspects of the mortgage loan application process.
    • Communicate effectively with peers, members, and management.
    • Meet and exceed loan production standards as set annually based on credit union goals and seat goal requirements.
    • Actively cross-sell additional OnPath products and services
    • Keeps promises and commitments, earns and maintains trust of others by acting consistently with words and actions. Is direct and truthful by providing straight, honest feedback. Keeps confidence, and is dedicated to the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and trust.

    • Experience with CALYX or other Mortgage Loan Origination System
    • Knowledge of the mortgage and/or real estate market a plus
    EXPERIENCE
    • Preferred three-year previous mortgage origination experience
    EDUCATION
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or a combination of education and work experience in sales and/or real estate
