Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Loan Officer Assistant to join our team. The Assistant will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, or recommending approval of residential real estate loans. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of FHA, VA, and Conventional guidelines. Fair Housing regulations and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

- Evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits
- Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans
- Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up debt payment plans
- Communicate with clients either to request or to provide information
- Justify decisions (approvals/rejections) and report on them
- Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions
- Update job knowledge on types of loans and other financial services
- Maintain and update account records

Qualifications:

- Proven working experience as a Loan Officer Assistant
- Familiarity with computers and banking applications/software
- Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer satisfaction orientation and sales competencies
- Strong analytical skills with a good grasp of math

Nice-to-have Skills:

- Knowledge of loan processing, mortgage servicing, accounting software, underwriting, and Fair Housing regulations

Pay: $40,704.95 - $120,000.00 per year
