Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     Location: Hybrid-remote, reporting to office location 2 days a week in either Newark or Dover, DE office locations


    What you will be working on…

    • Providing delivery support for the Network infrastructure, including the Cisco Unified Communications platform, Routing and Switching, Wireless, and Security Appliances.
    • Working with the Senior Network Delivery led to ensuring Services meet all aspects of the business needs.
    • Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
    • Reviewing and monitoring telephone billings; communicating with major telephone service providers to resolve billing errors and discrepancies.
    • Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
    • Maximizing network performance by monitoring; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; and collaborating on network optimization.
    • Consulting with vendors and other internal personnel ensuring service levels are met and problem resolution processes are defined and adhered to.
    • Reporting network operational status by gathering prioritizing information; and managing projects.
    • Managing Service Delivery management, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Request Management.
    • Making day-to-day operational decisions based on company policy in conjunction with department standard operating procedures and requirements.
    • Daily contact with internal customers, primarily via telephone and email. Serving as a liaison between It and department customers for applications and services and must have planning and relational skills associated with those tasks.
    • Growth of all skills and technologies, requiring the incumbent to continue in parallel with these goals.


    Who you are...

    • Three years experience in a similar position.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related major or related area and three to five years of corporate experience in a similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11x, QoS).
    • Proficiency with Cisco equipment, including the UC, IOS, and NXOS platforms.
    • Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and Panorama.
    • 2-3 years’ experience with Azure administration and design.
    • Network monitoring and performance solutions experience (OpManager preferred).
    • Experience with Cisco ASAs, DMZ design, and security best practices.
    • Experience with creating documentation for all levels of understanding.
    • Ability to support a large multi-user environment.
    • General knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and virtual networking environments.
    • PaloAlto PCNSA minimum, PCNSE a plus.
    • CISCO CCNA, CCNP, or similar certification.
    • Voice or Security certifications are a plus.
    • Experienced in Service and Project Management frameworks, processes, and delivery.
    • A self-starter is able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
