Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed. Job Responsibilities: Design and Implement networking solutions for Enterprise customers. Use technologies like VPN to build connectivity for customer applications to their datacenter. Work with multiple customers to design, implement and troubleshoot networks by utilizing switching, routing, network security, virtualization and cloud computing concepts coupled with scripting to implement solutions in an automated fashion. Work on multi-vendor devices to implement managed and secure SD-WAN networks. Basic Requirements: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience in enterprise networks/technical solutions OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in enterprise networks/technical solutions. Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: VPN; switching and routing; network security; networking technologies; virtualization; cloud computing; and Python for network automation. Travel within U.S. required 10% of the time.
