Network Engineer jobs in New Jersey
Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed. shift is day shift; there is a 12 midnight - 6a shift no more than 3 nights per week - night work will only be needed maybe the first half of the year; but during the 2nd phase of this project the night shift will be limited
This is a new project being initiated as related to commercial customers:
- Manage and launch devices for commercial customers - manage SURs, H gateways, mobile switching gateways
- Min 5 years Networking experience - hands on with devices like CISCO, Juniper, Nokia etc
- CCNP certifications, CCNA minimum
- OSPF routing protocols
- WIFI knowledge a requirement
- Must have troubleshooting skills
Day to day responsibilities:
Working on design, EDP, working across multiple groups; prepare config files; prepare launch devices and complete migration work
