Network Engineering Manager manages and implements the plans, designs, and development of all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Manager conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Manager keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. May be certified or has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    • Management, supervision, and design of transportation projects for public agencies and municipalities in New Hampshire and/or Maine
    • Supervision and development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for projects under the oversight of the Director of Transportation Engineering
    • Directing and mentoring team members in the production of transportation design projects
    • Development of project contracts, schedules, budgets, and quality control plans
    • Presenting of highway-related design elements to clients and stakeholders
    • Providing quality control for construction plans and design documents generated by other team members

    Qualifications:

    • BS in Civil Engineering
    • New Hampshire and/or Maine PE license
    • NHDOT, MaineDOT, MTA, and/or Northern New England municipal client experience
    • Proficiency using Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads Designer
    • Able to interpret and apply technical information contained in procedures and manuals (including state-specific manuals) to accomplish the design process for assigned projects
    • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team to develop solutions to complex design challenges, while adhering to schedule and budgetary requirements
    • Strong technical writing and communication skills
    • Progressive experience in highway design for public agencies

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
    • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
    • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
    • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
