The Position

This is a professional technical position in the Information Technology Department involving all functions of security management. The successful candidate will balance workload between system support, new system analysis, network security design and implementation, with a focus on security, management of the network firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention. The candidate will coordinate, plan and schedule work with vendors and consultants, as well as other Port Authority divisions and departments. Work will be performed under the general supervision of the Information Technology Service Design Manager while exercising considerable independence, with minimum daily contact with the manager.

A $331 million Terminal Expansion Project is currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. Planning for Terminal Expansion Phase 2 has begun and will add Concourse E, with an additional 14 gates to the current terminal building, expand the Chiller Plant Facility, as well as make other associated terminal, landside and airside improvements.

The anticipated annual starting rate for the ideal candidate is between

$80,009.00 - $96,010.00

Key Responsibilities

● Provides emergency support in the monitoring, management, and troubleshooting of perimeter devices to include firewalls, proxies, switches and mail transport agents

● Monitors Remedy application for Firewall Operations’ trouble tickets for incidents and service requests

● Implements firewall routing rules and policies

● Performs recurring maintenance activities, such as device reboots on perimeter devices

● Records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots network performance issues and analyzes network traffic

● Collaborates with users and departments to implement network changes as they relate to perimeter security following established change management procedures

● Supports the Cyber Security Incident Response Team by implementing IP address blocks, as directed

● Routinely updates architecture diagrams using Visio

● Monitors and performs health checks on multiple perimeter security devices

● Drafts, coordinates and publishes outage notifications, as required

● Updates and provides shift logs to leadership daily

● Troubleshoots perimeter security devices in conjunction with vendor-provided support

● Maintains IT standard operating procedures and guidelines

● Attends weekly teleconferences, onsite meetings and participates in working groups, as related to the constantly changing security environment

Minimum Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in a related field, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PCCET, PCNSE, PCNSA preferred

● A minimum of five years Cisco or Palo Alto firewall management experience

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities: Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time. Employees may be called upon to fulfill duties that are outside their normal scope of work to assist in resuming airport operations and flight activities.

Pay: $80,009.00 - $96,010.00 per year
