Job Summary
Performs routine semi-technical and/or clerical duties in direct support of department functions. Responds toagent/policyholder calls related to Personal Lines products through the PL Agency Service Center and respondto agent and customer billing calls for both Personal and Commercial Lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Respond to calls received through the PL Agency Service Center and/or Claim Service Center within the established scope of authority and as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
- Direct calls to the appropriate person, unit or department. Take messages and call or e-mail informationto specific individuals.
- Return calls to agents and customers as soon as possible but no later than the established serviceexpectations.
- Review and evaluate problem inquiries from agents, policyholders and Remote offices. Performnecessary research, make corrections or forward to the proper person or department for handling.
- Review, write, update, and edit processing procedures as directed.
- Interacts with other departments, agents and customers to provide information, assistance and superiorservice.
- Correspond via telephone, e-mail, fax and/or internet with customers, staff, or agents.
- Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
- Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
- May receive and record First Notice of Loss and assign to appropriate adjuster with pertinent coveragesopened.
- Work on Special Projects, including participating on project and testing teams for the division
- Provide customer service and assistance to Agents and Insured’s via Claims/Agency Call Center/BillingLine, IBQ, BizLink and EZLink.
- Review Claim Coverages and process small claims after determining coverage and utilizing calculationsto determine amount to be paid on small first party claims.
- Coordinate transcribed recorded statements and other necessary material with third party vendors.
- Answer Customer Service ACD lines for both Policy, Billing and Claims.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education, training andexperience that demonstrates the knowledge of applicable technical principles, processing policies andprocedures that encompass function of department.
- Previous experience using a 10-key calculator and dictating machines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Proven ability to analyze data and work independently to reach decisions regarding available courses ofaction.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills. Monday - Friday onsite. 8:30am-5pm
