Job Summary:
I am seeking a part time Medical Biller w/ experience in Athena medical record billing. Athena submits the claims but follow up is needed, as well as posting charges, payments and adjustments and f/u claims that are unpaid.. Obtaining insurance info on some inpatient billing.F/U claims that are unpaid. Doctor works 2-3 d/wk. Sometime in office will be necessary but it is very flexible and will be less once the job is understood.
Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical billing software to enter charges, payments, and adjustments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance guidelines and regulations
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical coding including ICD-9, ICD-10 codes
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with medical billing systems
- Knowledge of medical records management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
This position requires a candidate with a background in Medical Billing, Medical Coding, and Medical Collections.
