The Director of Marketing is responsible for the direct management and coordination of the organization's marketing and development activities. The primary focus of this position centers on the development, maintenance, and execution of a comprehensive and cohesive marketing program for all Society products, services, and activities. Working closely with the executive staff to create and implement inclusive marketing and online development strategies, the Director provides innovative leadership and drives the vision and direction of SNMMI marketing and development initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the development of marketing plans and implementation strategies for Society non-dues revenue programs, services, and products.
- Oversees all online and annual giving strategy, plans and implementation.
- Review and analyze marketing campaigns on a regular basis, through sales and tracking information to ensure the most cost-effective marketing efforts are being implemented and/or modifying strategies to achieve revenue goals.
- Ensure that all marketing and non-dues revenue (including charitable giving) integrates with the overall organization's strategy.
- Manage efforts to ensure the SNMMI brand is consistent and leveraged through execution and management of tradeshow marketing efforts, print ads, websites, collateral literature, signage and other promotional initiatives.
- Oversees all graphic design of society marketing materials to ensure relevancy to target audiences, consistency in corporate "look" ("branding") and that all materials are accurate and reflect attractive, up-to-date design.
- Determines, forecasts and monitors marketing budget allocations required to meet organizational strategic objectives and monitors financial trends to allow for strategic adjustments to assure maximum ROI.
- Conducts and integrates market research and analysis in strategic planning program development, delivery and evaluation and competitive positioning strategies.
- Collaborating with the Member Engagement Team to ensure cross-promotional messaging.
- Work closely with the communications and member engagement teams to manage social media messaging.
- Develops and provides routine sales reports/analyses on society programs and products.
- Directs activities of all external contractors and vendors providing marketing services to the Society to include development and negotiation of contracts and their supervision.
- Oversees the management of the marketing staff, workflows, projects and procedures to assure timely and accurate roll-out of processes and programs utilizing collaborative and consensus-building management techniques to lead departmental and cross-departmental projects.
- Assures assigned staff are receiving training, professional development, mentorship and performance evaluation to maximize potential and investment and to create a team-oriented environment.
- Staff liaison to the Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging Week Task Force and PDEF committee.
- Staff lead on Annual Giving.
Education and Experience
- Baccalaureate degree in marketing, public relations, or general communications.
- Ten years direct experience in not-for-profit marketing activities.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a management/mentorship role.

- Experience in strategic planning and strong analytic skills a must.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and analyze sophisticated statistical marketing models and instruments.
- Capacity to identify, implement, monitor and execute work plans for all assigned activities: goals & objectives; work plan & deadline schedules; assignment of responsibilities; reporting and evaluation.
- Word processing and position-related computer skills, specifically database management.
- Leadership capability to exercise administrative responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate relationships and cooperate successfully with other organizational units and members to achieve organization objectives.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to write promotional copy.

Travel Requirements
- This position requires some travel. You should expect overnight stays of up to 5-7 nights' at the site of the organization's Annual or Mid-Winter Meeting(s). Other travel may also be required.
