Nuclear Medicine Technician jobs in Maryland
Nuclear Medicine Technician provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technician observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Nuclear Medicine Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Must
The Nuclear Medicine Technician PET Technician must have experience:
Must have a certification or degree in Nuclear Medicine
A minimum of one year's experience performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, specifically cardiac exams and performing quality assurance on the equipment is preferred
Must have an active NMTCB or ARRT(N) license, and, if applicable, a state license in good standing
American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR courses
Duties
Perform functional and/or perfusion rest and stress cardiac studies, including processing images for physician review
Follow all radiation safety policy and State guidelines for handling of radioactive pharmaceuticals
Responsible for radiation safety
Follow government regulations and Company policies governing the receipt, handling, transport, use, and disposal of radioactive materials and related equipment and medical supplies
Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and patients and gain their trust and respect
Maintain patient confidentiality in all areas
Ability to react in an emergency and determine the best course of action or care for the patient
Able to work independently in a busy environment
Must have valid drivers license with no major violations
