Nuclear Medicine Technologist jobs in New Jersey
Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies and therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Being a Nuclear Medicine Technologist collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. Additionally, Nuclear Medicine Technologist may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically requires certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. As a PET Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work alongside our Cardiac RN at our PET client facility. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, the PET Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the PET camera to obtain high quality images based on clinical protocols as directed by our on-site physicians. You will perform patient care during the PET scan as well as be responsible for the Rb-82 isotope dose administration, maintaining the hot lab, ensuring that patient imaging and all clinical procedures are performed with high standards, while assuring compliance with all State, OSHA and other regulations are strictly adhered to at all times.
