Nuclear Pharmacist under the direction of a physician, compounds and dispenses radiopharmaceutical drugs to medical care providers. Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. - Position Summary
- Clinical Staff Pharmacists are responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services. Monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate, and works with medical staff to find alternatives when needed, to ensure the best care possible is being given. - Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
- Minimum: BS Degree required
- Credentials
- State Required: Unrestricted License to practice Pharmacy in the state of Nebraska required.

- Physical Demands
- Frequent walking/standing—worker is on his/her feet the majority of the day to perform direct or indirect duties.
- Must have the skills and ability to bend/stoop, lift/carry, push/pull, balance, must have handling and manual dexterity, and must be able to speak/hear/see to perform the job.
- Must be able to lift/handle supplies weighing up to 50 pounds as well as perform reaching motions greater than shoulder height in removing items from shelves.
- Essential Functions
- Prepare and dispense medications using appropriate techniques and following approved facility policies and procedures.
- Design, recommend, monitor, and evaluate patient-specific pharmacotherapy.
- Provide medication use education to patients and caregivers.
- Provide concise, applicable, and timely responses to requests for drug information from health care providers and patients.
- Provide inservice education to physicians, nurses, and other practitioners as assigned.
- Supervise pharmacy support personnel effectively. Assists effectively with ongoing training of the technician/support staff.
