Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room jobs in South Dakota
Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room works in collaboration with a physician to assess the physical needs of patients admitted to the emergency room. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a physician. Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Summary
- Provides appropriate medical care to all patients under the supervision of the supervising physician by assessing physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients; applying knowledge and understanding of human behavior in health and illness.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from an advanced practice provider program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (AAHEP), Registration by the South Dakota State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners or South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- License in South Dakota as Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Federal and State of South Dakota DEA certification.
- Providers are required within 6 months from hire to have certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
Work Schedule
- Weekend shift Friday to Monday AM; 28hrs/2wks
- 1 holiday weekend per year
