Nurse Practitioner examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Nurse Practitioner may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner requires a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires RN. Requires Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Nurse Practitioner's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Nurse Practitioners (NP) - Part-Time are needed to assist patients in the Jackson, MS area.
What do we do? Homedica provides primary care to patients who have limited mobility. We seek to become an extension of the physician’s office and hospital in order to provide a continuum of care tailored to the patient’s individual needs.
Essential Daily Duties Include- Provide primary medical care for chronic and acute illnesses to patients who are home-bound or have difficulty traveling to a physician’s office
- Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases
- Interpret laboratory and test results
- Prescribe and manage medications and other therapies all with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention
- Current Mississippi license required
- Home Health/Hospice experience required
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to deal with a variety of situations
