Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric jobs in Alaska

Provides primary healthcare to patients from birth to 22 years old in an office setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide primary medical care services as indicated.
• Assesses health conditions and collects patient data through use of means such as interviews, observation, and elimination.
• Identifies the need for additional data collection, including data collection from other health providers.
• Documents findings and actions appropriately in the patient's medical records.
• Assists in educating the patient and family members regarding medical condition, procedures, medication, and preventative measures as necessary and appropriate.
• Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Issues medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines.
• Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and reasonable outcome expectations.
• Communicates with patients and engages in follow-up as necessary.
• Performs evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations when necessary.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations and CME's
• Performs related work as required or assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
