Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Responsibilities and Duties
AFC Urgent Care providers evaluate and treat patients in an efficient and effective manner when immediate care is needed. AFC providers must be comfortable assessing pediatrics as young as 6 months old. They also must be comfortable in performing procedures in which a local anesthetic may be used. AFC providers conduct annual, sports, school, and pre-employment physicals, vaccinations, and interpret results from diagnostic services such as labs and x-rays.
Qualifications and Skills
AFC providers must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with AANPCP, ANCC or NCCPA; have an active North Carolina State License, DEA number, be (or willing to become) DOT Certified, current ACLS, and registered with CAQH.
Must have at least 1 year experience in ER or urgent care setting. Must be autonomous, flexible and dependable.
