The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction, management, and supervision of patient care clinical services. The DON assures coordination of services and ensures they meet state and federal rules and regulations. The DON will have overall responsibility for the quality and adequacy of services provided and supervision of staff. The DON establishes, implements and evaluates goals and objectives for home health services that meet and promote the standards of quality. The DON assists in the development of agency programs and operations.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting agency director with all agency functions, and performance improvement projects
• Establish and develop Company policies and procedures
• Assist with Medicare and Medicaid related tasks
• Building and retaining relationships with referral sources, medical personnel, employees, clients and their families
• Internal case management, documentation review, determining program eligibility and payer source, insurance authorizations, and medical coding
• Orienting and training new nurses, and supervising and educating nursing assistants
• Reviewing and updating care plans, clinical records, documents, as well as providing clinical supervision in compliance with the company and government standards
• Managing the environment in order to maintain patient safety, as well as coordinating clinical services for families
Requirements:
• At least 3 years of Home Health experience
• At least 2 years of public nursing or acute hospital experience
• At least 2 years Medicare Home Health experience since 2000
• At least 1 year of supervision experience
• Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively communicate with nurses, physicians, case managers and patients
• Highly motivated, organizational, leadership and relationship building skills
• Ability to work in a very detailed, fast paced environment
• Knowledgeable and skilled in OASIS, ICD-10 coding, clinical and case management, and Medicare conditions of participation
• Knowledgeable and experienced with Medicare
Currently holds a RN license in PA
• BSN or Masters
• Holds a current CPR card
• Computer savvy
• Valid state driver’s license and car insurance
