Nutrition Director jobs in Massachusetts

Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Develops policies and procedures to ensure all menus comply with general dietetic standards. Being a Nutrition Director administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. May Require Registered Dietitian (RD). Typically reports to senior management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Top 5 Key Activities:

    1. Implement, lead and update processes and systems to ensure compliance with EOEA, State and Federal regulations as it relates to the Elder Nutrition Program
    2. Review overall contractual compliance and address consumer issues by conducting community needs assessments and surveys
    3. Lead in supervising, mentoring, and training managers
    4. Plan/promote and conduct evidence-based nutrition workshops at local community venues for staff, consumers and community members with a minimum of 2 per site per year
    5. Monitor program budgets and spending


    Other Activities:

    • Participate on applicable committees and workgroup inside and outside the agency
    • Review kitchen inspection and work with team to develop improvement strategies
    • Attend monthly Registered Dietician meetings with EOEA
    • Submit all applicable reports to EOEA State Nutritionist
    • Develop, maintain and implement policies and procedures related Elder Nutrition Program


    Qualifications:

    • A Registered Dietician with at least five years of management and supervisory experience in the food service industry and experience in a health care, home health, or human service setting
    • Strong analytical, managerial, communication, and leadership skills
    • Proven supervisory and project management skills
    • The ability to manage multiple high priority objectives/projects
    • In-depth understanding of the Elder Nutrition industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels, including staff, board members and external partners
    • Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to work effectively independently or as a team
    • Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.
    • Expertise in the following platforms: Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint),


    This is a full-time, exempt (35 hour/week) position. Our office is located in Malden, MA with ample free parking!
