Nutrition Director jobs in South Dakota
Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Develops policies and procedures to ensure all menus comply with general dietetic standards. Being a Nutrition Director administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. May Require Registered Dietitian (RD). Typically reports to senior management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. - Coordinate nutritional care of residents and patients by completing nutritional assessments
- Experience working with tube feedings
- Provide nutritional counseling and education for residents and family
- Meet DOH/state/federal regulations and company standards
- Perform duties independently without training or direction
Requirements: Candidates must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Experience providing general nutrition education (IE weight loss, weight gain)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with electronic charting systems
- Familiarity with state survey process and compliance to nutrition care regulations
