May require a master's degree. Additionally, Occupational Therapy Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Occupational Therapist certification. The Occupational Therapy Supervisor supervises a group of professional level staff. May also be a level above a supervisor. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     Your Daily Tasks & Responsibilities as an Occupational Therapy Assistant:

    Responsibilities

    In this role, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists and other professionals to make a remarkable impact on children's lives. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Make progress with patients directly and indirectly through occupational therapy treatment with home education programs.
    • Assist children in mastering activities of daily living (ADL) such as dressing, grooming, and feeding.
    • Contribute to the development of engaging and goal-oriented play-based interventions.
    • Monitor and document patient progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Contribute to reassessment and re-evaluation of progress that leads to discharge for all goals met.
    • Assist with standardized assessments at the guidance of your Occupational Therapist Supervisor.
    • Collaborate with and supervise Therapy Aides, Clinicial Students, Intern, & Volunteers at a project level.
    • Provide ongoing support to children and families, ensuring a positive and encouraging therapeutic experience.
    • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to support the whole child.
    • Stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.

    Qualifications: To succeed in this role as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you should meet the following requirements...

    • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.
    • Certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
    • Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as a. Occupational Therapy Assistant as required in the state of Kentucky.
    • Ability to develop creative and engaging therapy activities
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills

    Additional Skills: Highly Desirable

    • Efficiency without giving up effectiveness with your time.
    • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental needs.
    • Previous experience working with school-aged children
    • Knowledge of sensory integration techniques
    • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
    • Understanding of behavior management strategies
    • Experience with handwriting and fine motor skills development
    • Ability to provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers
