Operating Room Supervisor jobs in Michigan
Operating Room Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of personnel in the operating room. Ensures adherence to procedure and schedule. Being an Operating Room Supervisor supervises the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, staffing and training of employees, and budgeting. May oversee pre- and post-operative care of patients. Additionally, Operating Room Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree or in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Operating Room Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Contingent- 24 hours per month

Nurses working with us have the unique benefit of being exposed to various settings throughout HFHS because they float to where staffing needs are identified. This may be ongoing to fill an employee's hours that is on a leave of absence, call-ins, increase of census or to cover vacation requests. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Willingness to float to multiple locations.

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.

Performs nursing intervention across a variety of nursing situations.

Identifies patient problems prior to explicit changes in patient-specific data collection (such as vital signs).

Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

•High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
•Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program required.
•Specific knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room (OR), in addition to knowledge of surgical procedures, practices and techniques in providing patient care and assisting surgeons in the O.R.
•Minimum of three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES:
•Current BLS certification required.
•Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
