Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. Colorado Eye Institute is seeking a professional, friendly, and detail oriented individual to serve as a medical ophthalmic assistant within our practice. This position requires the ability to quickly and effectively multitask, problem-solve, and function in a fast-paced environment.
Experience preferred but not required as on the job training is provided!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Ophthalmic Technician generates important preliminary information to be used by the Physician, reviews patient charts, and performs medical tests. Supports the Mission, Vision, Values, and Mantra of the Colorado Eye Institute.
