Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our medical team. The Surgical Assistant will work alongside surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care in surgical settings. This person will also be required to function in the clerical setting with scheduling patients, chart prep, and basic clerical duties in the outpatient setting. Any and all basic office setting type function will also be required of this position in our tight knit group setting.
Duties:
- Assist provider during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field during procedures to prevent infections.
- Handle tissue, organs, and surgical equipment with care.
- Prepare procedure rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery/post procedure.
- Collect and document data related to patient care.
- Willingness and ability to function in multiple systems.
- Required to work with multiple providers, must be adaptible and willing to help and learn.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Experience in emergency medicine or hospital medicine is beneficial.
- Familiarity with operating room (OR) protocols and procedures.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
-ACLS preffered
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
