Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Description / Responsibilities:
· Operate CNC machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Follow operating procedures as well as recommend improvements.
· Ability to troubleshoot effectively to avoid machine downtime.
· Ability to perform a sequence of operations with little supervision and consistently
maintain established quantity and quality performance levels
· Maintain a clean and safe work area.
· Take an active role in the ISO Quality Management System.
· Receive training as required to maintain Quality System.
· Perform light preventative maintenance on machines.
· Maintain a clean and safe work area
· Other duties as required.
Training / Hours:
· Candidate for weekend shift found to be a good fit could be trained on 1st shift for at
least 2 weeks before transitioning onto 2nd shift.
· Full-time position; Friday - Sunday.
· Weekend shift hours; 5:00am – 5:30pm
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift, load and move materials.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
