Paralegal assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Being a Paralegal drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Additionally, Paralegal assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to an attorney. The Paralegal work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be a Paralegal typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience.     Role Description

    This is a full-time on-site role as a Paralegal at Theisen Hubley Law in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Paralegal will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks, including legal document preparation, communication with clients, responding and drafting Discovery requests, and electronic filing in State and Federal Court among other tasks. The Paralegal will work closely with our lawyers to provide support and assistance in all legal aspects.

    Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of law and legal processes
    • Experience in legal document preparation
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Research skills to gather relevant information
    • Ability to review and analyze documents accurately
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Experience in a law firm or legal setting is preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field is a plus
    • Must have experience in preparing and responding to Litigation Discovery.
