Job Summary

Performs various paralegal work to assist the Office of General Counsel and University Administration with routine aspects of contract management, university compliance, research and other administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will provide legal support to the Office of General Counsel and University Administration by assisting in the following:

• Calendaring,
• Drafting, reviewing, and managing of legal documents, specifically including, but not limited to contracts, agreements, policies, handbooks, correspondence, and other assignments as needed,
• Assisting in monitoring state and federal regulatory developments affecting the university,
• Assisting in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assisting in preparation for meetings,
• Effectively communicating with the university community, including staff, faculty, students, and vendors,
• Performing general administrative support to the General Counsel’s Office as needed.

Physical Demands

• Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment including a computer
• Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
• Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to maintain office hours and perform duties in an on-campus setting

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least one year of work experience as a paralegal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong reading comprehension skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to gather, organize, and analyze documents
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference for previous work experience as a paralegal or legal support role
