Parts Manager jobs in Idaho
Parts Manager supports the parts department with technical, procedural, inventory control, and parts exchange support. Manages material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Being a Parts Manager monitors and troubleshoots all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Manager reviews progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and makes necessary adjustments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Parts Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Parts Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Position Summary
Responsible for the management and leadership of service and parts within the maintenance department. Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
This position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance. It cannot encompass all specific job tasks that an employee may be required to perform. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform job-related duties as may be required by his/her supervisor.
Key Performance Areas (Essential Functions Of The Position)- Manages all inventory of parts including ordering all parts for the plant.
- In charge of scheduling services on all rolling stock equipment at the plant.
- Contacts vendors for equipment breakdowns.
- Tracks hours on equipment for routine maintenance.
- Promote all aspects of service for maintenance team.
- Support and implement process improvement, standard work instructions and policies.
- Manage workflow to include service request, scheduling and purchasing.
- Ensure safe working environment.
- Ensures that parts warranties and claims are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all relevant material safety data sheets are kept on file and maintained.
- Maximizes all order discount programs.
- Takes immediate reaction from directives given by supervisor.
- Asks questions and challenges old ideas.
- Leads others effectively.
- Gains commitment from team.
- Communicates effectively and assertively (both directly and respectfully).
- Communicates clearly (both written and verbal), to all levels of the organization.
- Motivates others on the team.
- Managing Inventory of approximately $400,000
- High School Diploma
- Industrial equipment repair experience
- Computer skills are required, with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude is required.
- Valid driver’s license
- Purchasing experience required
- Inventory management required
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree and or equivalent 2 years' work experience.
Varies greatly depending on season: Work includes: equipment operation, frequent lifting of product or equipment around 50#, office work, driving. Work hours are Monday Through Friday with some weekend work. Will need to be on call, with company supplied Phone.
