Paste-Up Worker jobs in Washington

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Able to complete required physical demands and/or tasks
• Able to effectively warn roadway workers of the approach of trains
• Understand the On-Track Safety training and qualification required of the roadway workers to be protected
• Proficient in the radio procedure for communicating between RWIC/EIC’s (Employee in Charge) and assigned work group
• Able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours or more
• Proficient in performing a job briefing with all the roadway workers within their work location.
• Able to place railroad advance warning and stop signs
• Able to install a railroad derail and apply locking device
• Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)

Required Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of 2 years of Class 1 Railroad experience; preferably within the Maintenance of Way (MOW) department

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 2 - 5 years of railroad track maintenance experience
• Prior experience working within a railway company
• Training in railway “Track Inspection Guidelines” or equivalent

Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

• UP West On-Track Worker and Operating Rules
