Description
Position Summary: The Pastoral Care Pastor is responsible for developing and maintaining a day-to-day ministry to meet the needs of members and their families who are suffering from illness, grief, and life’s struggles.

Position Reports To: Executive Pastor with direction given from Campus Pastor
Hours: This a full-time position and requires the Pastoral Care Pastor to be on-call on a rotating basis with other pastoral staff. A basic work schedule consists of working Monday through Thursday, 8:30AM- 4:30PM. Attendance at all Sunday services, Wednesday services/activities and special events is required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide short-term Spiritual Guidance to Liberty attendees and members as well as completing referrals for those who need long-term or professional counseling.
- Be the first point of contact for those who contact the church who are desiring pastoral care.
- Conduct hospital visitation to non-senior adult members and prospects.
- Minister to bereaved families of non-senior adults, contacting the funeral home, visiting the family either personally or by phone, being available to preach the funeral service or schedule the pastor of their choice, helping the family make funeral arrangements and scheduling Liberty’s facilities when needed.
- Coordinate special community memorial/funeral services for police, firefighters, and military that utilize Liberty’s facilities.
- Officiate weddings on a rotating basis with other Liberty Pastors.
- Establish and maintain an on-call/afterhours pastoral staff rotation calendar.
- Maintain an annual budget for the Pastoral Care Ministry with fiscal responsibility.
- Serve as a member of the Pastoral Team giving assistance to determining priorities and implementing the vision of the church.
- Serve as the on-call pastor during non-office hours on a rotating basis for a week at a time.

- Use independent judgment to determine work priorities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Campus Pastor.
- Is a loyal staff member by cooperating and following the leadership of the church.
- Follow Liberty’s policies and procedures.
- Work in coordination with the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the church, which are summarized by the mission statement “Changing Lives, Communities and the World for Jesus Christ.”
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to recruit, train and lead staff and volunteers to be part of a ministry team.
- Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner.
- Strong work ethic
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and church databases
- A fully supportive wife
- Earned a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies or in a ministry related field. A master’s degree in a ministry related field is preferred.
- At least five years ministry experience
- Have training and experience with providing Spiritual Guidance
Conditions And Physical Requirements:
The job will primarily be carried out in an office setting and church facility and in off-site care facilities such as hospitals and funeral homes.
