Patient Accounts Director oversees all functions of the inpatient and/or outpatient accounting office. Directs a staff of credit, collection, insurance, and billing personnel. Being a Patient Accounts Director ensures billing deadlines are met. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Patient Accounts Director typically reports to top management. POSITION SUMMARY
Assist patients with billing questions and concerns. Responsible for accurate and timely submission of claims; stay current on billing rules, HIPAA and claim rejection reasons. Prepare clinic receipts for bank deposit and data entry.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to problem solve and work independently. Ability to work with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues. Related junior college or vocational school helpful or job related experience. Basic computer skills. Medical terminology preferred.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED. Related junior college and/or vocational school or job-related experience helpful.
