Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Patient Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    As a Patient Safety Attendant you will assists all patients with activities of daily living, provides patient care based upon the Department’s standard of practice and standard of care. Our team is amazing and we are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to serving others in need and also supporting one another. In this role:

    • You will collaborate with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The Sitter may also assist with basic activities of daily living responsibilities.
    • You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance your skills/training and the needs of the department.
    • You will maintains a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room. Accompanies patient and ensures patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.
    • You will monitor patient physical and emotional condition. Reports any changes in status promptly while remaining direct line of sight with the patient.
    • You will create clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity during the shift.
    • You will promote consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
    • You will demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
    • You will serve as a resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care
    • You will include maintenance of a safe, clean and age appropriate environment and provide care to meet the patient/family’s, physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and cultural needs with the RN’s assistance.
    • You will perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.

    Qualifications:

    • State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
    • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support or obtain within 7 days of hire date.

    • NVCI (CPI) training within 60 days of hire date
