    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    This is a full-time role for a Safety Specialist at JLN Associates located in Old Lyme, CT. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment through implementing and monitoring health & safety procedures.


    This is an excellent career opportunity to work with a consulting team on challenging health and safety management projects for large and small industrial clients. Staff also have the opportunity to work on new and retrofit construction projects.


    Access to the company's Industrial Safety Team provides knowledge sharing of best practices across a variety of industries which include Manufacturing, Construction, Pharma and Power Production.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform multiple audits and assessments at client locations for large compliance projects.
    • Provide Training for clients in the Training Center or at location in client facilities
    • Prepare and provide assessment data for the company Industrial Safety Specialists and client review.
    • Provide on-site health and safety compliance support at client facilities.
    • Review and provide technical assistance on client health and safety programs.
    • Prepare and provide client-specific training concerning health and safety subjects.
    • Communicate with clients, other employees, and vendors.


    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, H&S Science, Occupational H&S, Health Sciences, or related discipline is desired (Equivalent experience and training will be considered)
    • Outreach Training Certification a plus (Construction or General Industry).
    • Recent graduate to several years of safety compliance experience
    • Experience developing, auditing, and/or maintaining corporate management industry standards preferred (either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer).
    • Ability to demonstrate familiarity with OSHA/EM385/MSHA/NFPA regulations.
    • Strong MS Office & Google program computer skills; advanced understanding of PowerPoint, Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Forms.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; with experience delivering presentations and training subjects as well as writing comprehensive technical reports and standards.
    • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
    • Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time.
