    Job Description:
    We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Training and Development Specialist to join our team. As the Training and Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our organization's events through comprehensive training, support, and coordination initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Posting Positions: Take charge of posting all positions related to events within the organization, ensuring that job opportunities are effectively advertised and promoted.
    2. Interview Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule interviews for candidates applying for event-related positions, working closely with hiring managers and interview panels to streamline the hiring process.
    3. Hiring Committee Participation: Act as a key member of the hiring committee, offering valuable insights and input during candidate selection and recruitment efforts.
    4. Onboarding: Lead the onboarding process (including background checks, drug-testing and reference checks) for all new staff members involved in events facilitating a smooth transition into their roles and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources.
    5. Training Requirements: Identify, develop, or locate training requirements specific to event roles and responsibilities, and deliver educational programs to employees to ensure compliance and proficiency.
    6. Training Compliance: Monitor and ensure continued training compliance for all event staff, tracking progress and addressing any training gaps or deficiencies as needed.
    7. Communication with Leadership: Regularly communicate with Directors and General Managers regarding hiring processes, findings, and employee reviews related to events staffing, providing updates and recommendations as necessary.
    8. Field Training Collaboration: Collaborate with communication employees to coordinate field training sessions for event staff, ensuring they are well-prepared and equipped to execute events successfully.
    9. Climate and Culture Building: Assist in fostering a positive and collaborative climate and culture within the events team, implementing initiatives and activities to enhance team morale and cohesion.
    10. Handbook Updates: Support in updating and maintaining the employee handbook, particularly sections relevant to events staff, to ensure that policies and procedures are current and aligned with organizational objectives.
    11. Choices Matter Presentations: Assist in booking Choices Matter presentations when needed and feasible, contributing to the logistical arrangements and coordination of these events.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Education, Human Resources, or related fieldĀ 
    • Proven experience in event coordination, training, and employee development.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of event planning best practices and industry standards.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Passion for creating impactful events and fostering a positive work environment.
