Payment Recovery Specialist is responsible for analysis of denied reimbursement claims. Ensures appropriate insurance coverage for compliance standards and revenue generation. Being a Payment Recovery Specialist monitors, evaluates, and reviews all cost reporting in support of claims. Coordinates with departments and insurance companies to correct errors as necessary. Additionally, Payment Recovery Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Payment Recovery Specialist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. When you are part of our team, you know what connected feels like. #WhatConnectsYou Job Description Contract & Payer Management: Understanding of payer methodologies and the ability to communicate with NMHS staff Manage paid claims to resolve underpaid accounts and denials Develops strategy for appeal, appeal follow-up and/or reprocessing accounts Analyze underpayments to determine reason they occurred Identifies trends and reports significant and recurring issues along with possible solutions to the Director of Infusion Takes corrective action through systematic and procedural development to reduce or eliminate payment issues Ensure optimization of revenue reimbursement under contracts and act as a consultant on infusion payment issues Assist in all aspects of infusion revenue cycle management Communication: Professionally and effectively communicates with third party carriers, vendors, and hospital contacts to promote contractual compliance Serves a resource for infusion inventory, infusion and drug coding,

    HCPC codes and ICD 10 codes and the various charge entry, clinical and claims systems Liaison: Contacts insurance companies regarding underpayment and denial issues Serves as liaison between payers and hospital departments/physician offices to resolving underpayment issues for infusion. Reporting: Assists in preparation of monthly variance reports and other variance reports as requested Coordinates and assisting in completion, review and submission of records requested by all payers for infusion accounts Regulation : Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues. Requirements: Associates degree in Business, Accounting, Coding or equivalent; required Minimum of 2 year pharmacy and infusion claims reimbursement or healthcare experience; preferred Experience/knowledge of infusion and drug reimbursement methodology including ICD-10, CPT-4 and/or HCPCS and DRGs, required Prior pharmacy experience and CPhT highly preferred Ability to research, analyze and communicate payer trends to identify reimbursement and training issues, required Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required Good organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required Computer skills with strong Microsoft Office, Outlook, Third Party Payer websites; preferred Excellent interpersonal skills; required.
