Description & Details :

The Payment Services Specialist position provides support for accounts payable functions within the NDSU Accounting Service Center.

Duties include data entry and audit (Bookstore SSI, Travel & Expense, and interdepartmental transfers), answering main phone for department and helping walk in customers with questions, office supply orders and general customer service matters.

Additional duties include assisting in payment processing, distribution of checks, daily ledger balancing of entries and assisting VPFA office as needed.

The position will also provide excellent service to customers (departments, students, and external) via face-to-face, phone and email.

Work Schedule : Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm (regular school term) and 7 : 30 am to 4 pm (summer and breaks)

Advertised Salary : $43,000 / year

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree in related field with 3 years direct experience, OR 5 years direct experience within a higher education setting that provides the knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the job duties.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Customer orientation
• Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel (ability to use spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications :

• Major Field of Study or Degree Emphasis : Business, Accounting or related field. Actual work experience in a business field can be used in lieu of this degree requirement
• Preferred experience in accounts payable, travel and expense reimbursements, and customer service
• Preferred knowledge of policies and regulations of GAAP and financial related policies, rules and regulations
