Payroll Clerk jobs in Wisconsin
Payroll Clerk prepares and processes payroll and associated information. Collates and verifies data and inputs into the payroll system. Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Payroll Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Payroll Clerk typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assists in preparing year-end statements
- Compiles payroll data such as hours worked; sales volume, bonuses, and commissions; monies to be withheld for taxes; employee contributions to insurance and retirement plans; etc., from time sheets and other records
- Updates master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc., and data concerning compensation increases, promotions, and/or transfer of employees between departments
- Computes wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy, and posts to payroll records
- Prepares and issues paychecks

Accurately adds all timesheets and timecards and calculates overtime
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm - 100% in office
Pay starting at $20.00/hour based on experience
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field is required
- Previous payroll accounting experience is required
- Eagerness to learn
- Ability to Work Independently
- Excellent Guest/Customer Service

- Excellent Time Management Skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting necessary
