Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions. Being a Payroll Supervisor prepares statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc. Oversees the distribution of paychecks and direct deposit programs. Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes. Additionally, Payroll Supervisor assists team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. May be the first level escalation for complaints or complex error resolution. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. JOB OVERVIEW:
The Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of weekly payroll processing for multiple states. This role is responsible for the preparation, audit, documentation, and distribution of hourly and salary payroll. The role ensures that all processes are compliant with federal, state, and local agencies with accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions. As a representative of the Human Resources team this position will maintain high standards of integrity, accountability and comply with internal policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensures accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll
* Oversee and processes weekly payroll (when necessary), garnishments, direct deposits, etc.
* Maintenance within HRIS payroll division and time keeping systems
* Work with employees on payroll related issues
* Continuous improvement for all payroll processes and ensuring the company is compliant with tax regulations including but not limited to:
* Prepare statistical reporting/metrics as needed
* Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams (Accounting & Finance)
* Reconciliation and supervision of tax filings
* Case management in OSV Atmosphere portal for payroll, tax, treasury, etc.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
* At least 5 years of payroll experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
* Good problem-solving abilities as well as being able to multitask.
* Familiarity with payroll software and all phases of processing a multi- state payroll.
* Technical Skills: Excel, good written & oral communication skills.
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize demanding/critical needs of department
EDUCATION:
* College degree required.
