PC Support Manager manages a team that provides personal computer deployment and support, including setup, installation, repairs, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting. Maintains the necessary hardware and software inventory and oversees the administration of required licenses. Being a PC Support Manager analyzes PC resource requirements and evaluates available vendors, products, and services that will meet the organization's needs. Implements training programs and develops documentation to support end-users. Additionally, PC Support Manager possesses experience in a LAN environment, a strong understanding of PC operating systems, security tools, and extensive knowledge of all commonly used PC software and products. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The PC Support Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a PC Support Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description
    Our client is looking for a PC Support Technician based out of the Edmonton Airport in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The PC Support Technician will assist in providing basic technical support for computers, peripherals and associated networks. This individual will be performing these duties in a face-to-face customer environment. The position performs rotating shift work in a 24x7x365 environment, onsite from 03303 to 2200. Techs do 4 ten hour shifts a week.
    Rotating Shifts: Summer
    Shift morning - 0400 - 1400
    Shift evening - 1200:00 - 2200
    Rotating Shifts: Winter
    Shift morning - 0330 - 1330
    Shift evening - 1200:00 - 2200
    Primary Responsibilities:
    Installing/replacing hardware (computers, printers, laptops, etc.) and validating solution implementation is completed
    Responds to any trouble calls from the Customer(s)
    Troubleshoot and identify hardware errors in computers, printers, laptops, etc.
    Work with asset, spares and consumables management
    Perform quarterly preventative maintenance on workstations and peripherals.
    Basic Qualifications:
    High School diploma plus technical training. Should possess A certification or Network Plus and one or more of the following certificates would be helpful but not required: MCSE, MCP, MCDBA and/or CCNA.
    OR In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
    Must be able to maintain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
    Must be eligible to work in Canada
    Preferred Qualifications:
    Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a field technician role or comparable experience
    Knowledge and experience with Windows 7 and 10 platforms
    Possess troubleshooting skills, and the ability to identify hardware errors in computers, printers, laptops, etc.;
    Understands SLAs, severity levels, and industry best practices.
    Possess strong communication skills (verbal and written English and French)
    Experience with asset, spares and consumables management
