Your role and responsibilitiesAs Pension Manager for the US, you will have the opportunity to partner with the business and function to proactively manage the financial assets and exposures within the respective areas of responsibility. Each day, you will be accountable for the overall asset and risk management of the defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans in the US. The role requires a deep expertise and focus on reporting, controls, and management of 401(k) plans, closed defined benefit pension programs, and non-qualified defined contribution plans. While preferred candidates would be able to work hybrid-remote in the Cary, NC office, the position would consider remote candidates in the US near another ABB office (#LI-Hybrid) - Act as a fiduciary and lead the pension investment committee in the US. Working with internal stakeholders and external advisers on constructing agenda, preparing and delivering presentation/report to senior management, and executing resulting action items. - Assisting in defining strategic objectives for the pension plans, leading asset liability modelling exercises in partnership with external advisers, implementing the agreed asset allocation strategy with external investment managers. - Ensuring that every pension plan has sufficient liquid cash to pay benefits to plan participants. - Ensuring the pensions plans are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements. - Managing vendors and reviewing performance of all external advisers. Designing and implementing service improvement plans where required. This includes monitoring asset managers. - Monitoring external costs (MUSD 10 per annum) to identify options to reduce costs / increase efficiencies. Executing resulting initiatives. - Serving as expert adviser to senior management on finance related risks and opportunities associated with all pension plans in the USA. - Designing, implementing, and operating internal controls over financial reporting processes in partnership with other stakeholders. - Being pension expert to M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiations with buyers/sellers, providing input on Sale & Purchase agreements, etc.
