Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners jobs in Michigan
Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. - Diagnose, repair, clean and calibrate surveying instruments
- Read and understand technical data/work instructions
- Maintain inventory in an organized fashion
- Complete paperwork/data entry for processing customer information
- On the job training provided

- Infrequent travel expected (2-4 nights per year)
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 years technical experience in mechanical repair, electrical components and/or circuitry
- Technical/vocational experience a plus
- Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must be able to read and interpret measuring equipment
- Fine motor skills/manual dexterity is required including: pinching, pressing, rotating, using tweezers, delicate tool work, etc.
- Frequent sitting and standing are required
- Good near vision is required
- Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs, with or without assistance
