Pharmacist - Retail reviews prescriptions and compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs according to regulatory requirements and guidelines in a retail environment. Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Summary

The retail pharmacy Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator works closely with retail pharmacy leadership to recognize and implement opportunities to better serve our patients, to facilitate pharmacy business growth, to improve workflow and safety strategies, and to develop our employees to their fullest potential. Tasks will vary based upon the project, but will also include helping to staff a busy retail pharmacy, representing the retail pharmacy in interdepartmental initiatives, and serving as a supportive and helpful staff resource.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduate of an ACCP accredited school/college of pharmacy.

License/Certifications: State of Maine Registered Pharmacist.

Experience: 2 years' work experience providing direct patient care including but not limited to patient monitoring and drug therapy review, is preferred. Experience in the monitoring and consultation on drug therapy. Experience in the monitoring and consultation on drug therapy in patients of all age groups.

Preference for 5 years in a health-system practice or significant applicable specialty experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical skills necessary to identify and resolve problems relating to drug therapy.
