Pharmacy Director jobs in Oregon
Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Pharmacy Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Director of Pharmacy
Provides leadership, direction and administrative oversight for the operations and strategic direction of the pharmacy operations.
Skills And Abilities- Working knowledge of but not limited to: label maker, unit-dose packaging machine, heat-sealer for single unit dose packaging, cassette drawers, automated dispensing system and vertical/horizontal intravenous hoods
- Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
- Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates strong financial management and organizational skills and proven leadership ability
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location.
(Essential Job Requirements Listed In Bold)- Current Oregon Pharmacist licensure
- Board mandated PIC training
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pharm D preferred
- Master of Science in Health Care Administration or related field preferred
- Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program preferred
(Essential job requirements listed in bold)- Five years of clinical experience
- Three years of supervisory experience in an acute care Pharmacy setting required
