Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service to patients.
Duties: This is a 2nd shift T-Sat schedule T,W,TH,F 3:30pm-11:30pm Sat 9:00am-7:30pm
- Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing medications to patients
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns
- Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
- Perform medication reconciliation and review for accuracy
- Assist with medication administration, including inhalation and IV infusion
- Follow aseptic technique guidelines when handling sterile products
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- Current pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) is highly desired
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations
- Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
