Job Title: Swage/Forge tooling assembler
Department: Warehouse Bldg.
Reports To: Die shop supervisor.
Principal Purpose of Job: This position is responsible for building swage and forge dies and related tooling for forge production.
Level of Authority: Is responsible for making sure dies and supportive tooling are built according to the specifications.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Build each swage/forge dies, trim tooling, grippers and other forge dies supportive parts to die shop specifications.
2. Inspect the tooling and complete paperwork for supervisor to sign.
3. Grind and polish the forge dies and tooling when needed for proper fitment.
4. To transport forge tooling to and from warehouse to forge shop.
5. Operate drill machine, manual milling machine and grinder according to the job need.
6. Keep work area neat and organized.
7. Any job deemed necessary by the supervisor or group leader.
8. Observe all safety rules and guidelines.
Qualifications: Must have the ability to work independently and as a team in a multi-tasking environment.
Physical: Must be able to lift or move at least 40 lbs., swing hammer and must have the ability to stand, bend, walk, and drive as needed throughout the day.
Education: The ability to read and write legibly.
Experience: 2-3 years hands on experience in General machine shop/tool and dies assembly shop necessary.
Training: On the job training will be provided.
