Physician - Emergency Room treats patients in emergency room to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Being a Physician - Emergency Room requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. Additionally, Physician - Emergency Room may report to a medical director. Physician - Emergency Room's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Hospital T : This hospital is located approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from Montgomery & Auburn and 1 hr. 45 min. from Birmingham.
Shifts can be 12, 24, or 36 hrs.
Shift times are 7a-7a
Census : Avg. 20 patients in 24 hours 7-8k annual visits
EMR is implemented
Physician quarters available while on duty.
Hospital C : The facility is located approximately 1-1 2 hr. from Montgomery and an hour from Jackson.
Shifts can be 12, 24, 36 or 48 hrs.
Shift times are 6am-6am
Avg. # of patients during a 24 hr. period 11-12 approx. 6k annual visits
Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to nearby facilities
Solo physician coverage assisted with either 2 RNs or 1 RN 1 LPN
X-ray, CT & Lab on site and always staffed
Remote radiologist reads all CTs and X-rays
EMR : implemented
ER has a very private physician suite that offers a bed, shower, refrigerator, etc.
