Nephrologist Physician Leominster, MA UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Nephrology Physician for a well-established practice in Leominster, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a new grad or experienced physician! Health Alliance Hospital is a full service, acute care hospital that serves the communities of North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Leominster is a small city, located 20 miles north of Worcester and about 50 miles from Boston and is easily accessible with little commuter traffic. UMass Memorial Medical Center is one of two academic medical centers which provide the core for the clinical, teaching, and research missions of the UMass Memorial Health System and primary referral center for central Massachusetts. About the Group: Our current practice of two well-trained board-certified Nephrologists looking for a third to replace a retiring nephrologist. This is a Community based nephrology practice with acute dialysis in one hospital. Main office is located in building connected to the hospital. The Nephrologists serve as medical directors at three dialysis units which serves around two hundred HD/PD patients. There are Satellite offices in 3 separate sites. The Nephrologists provide inpatient consultations to two hospitals. There is Transplant referral to UMMHC and several Boston Hospitals. Premium on Communication and providing excellent care with Accountability. Excellent working relationships with Hospitalists who admit all renal patients. Renal biopsies performed by IR Department. Dialysis catheter placement per IR, vascular or intensivists About the Position: This is a busy practice with a solid referral base. The position is full time and does have a call requirement. The call requirement is 1:4 weekend call and 1.3 weeknights per week. The Nephrologists typically work 3-4 half day clinics per week. Focus on Work/life balance with flexibility in scheduling. Top rated schools in nearby communities. Limited “Windshield time”, 30 minutes maximum. There is also teaching opportunity to UMASS Family Practice Residency.
