Physician - Nuclear Medicine uses radioactive materials to diagnose and treat disease. Monitors quality control of radionuclide preparation, administration and disposition, and ensures that all activities comply with the standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Being a Physician - Nuclear Medicine instructs and directs nuclear medicine technologists regarding desired dosages, techniques, positions, and projections. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Nuclear Medicine requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. JOB TITLE: Nuclear Medicine Tech
DEPARTMENT: Imaging Services
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- must be able to prepare and inject radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging.
- Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt of radioactive materials.
- Performs quality assurance procedures on all equipment.
- Process diagnostic images and prepares reports for Cardiologist.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school of nuclear medicine technology.
